# FIREcalc > Free retirement and financial-independence calculator at https://firecalc.ai/. Calculations run in the browser. No account and no fee. Social Security is off unless the user turns it on. FIREcalc has two calculators. Savings asks how long a portfolio takes to reach a goal in today’s purchasing power. Retirement asks what share of paths still have money at the end of every year of a chosen horizon. The embedded sample is US large-cap stocks and 10-year Treasury total returns for 1975–2024, with each year’s inflation kept on the same row. It does not include 1966 or 1973–74. An optional email form can store an address, the time, a consent sentence, and a share link. It does not run a simulation. Delete a row at https://firecalc.ai/unsubscribe. Retirement results also include six named stress packs (for example https://firecalc.ai/?pack=dotcom). Each replays one real stretch inside 1975–2024 and states the exact years used. A local MCP package in the repository (`mcp/server.mjs`) runs that same engine on the user's computer over stdio. It is not a public compute API. Install notes are on the suite page. A separate link-only MCP (`workers/firecalc-link-mcp/`) is a draft for a ChatGPT connector test. It builds share URLs and does not run trials. It is not in the ChatGPT directory. ## Pages - [Calculator](https://firecalc.ai/): The savings and retirement tools - [Agent and plugins](https://firecalc.ai/ai): Suite home for ChatGPT, MCP, and other AI agents.
